If you bump into someone you recognise but can't quite place their name, mention that you've mislaid their card and that you need a new one from them. Check this before you pocket it and you once again have their name. Problem solved!

Intrpduce that person to the one whose name you don't remember. Listen in. Problem solved Works even if you don't remember two people's names. Introduce them and listen!!!
