Cheap beer + Interestingly fresh crowd = Good networking
Very different crowd -- more artistic, creative Cheap booze Name tags -- I have a terrible memory for names, so this helped a lot, especially with the loud music Cons Overly loud music On the whole a really good experience, much better than I thought PeopleLocal/Expat/Overseas Chinese:Lots of overseas Chinese present, a few locals and a few more expats Industry Sectors: All sorts: quite a few from technology and finance, and some from PR, training, engineering, F&B and talent management Positions: Lots of salespeople, a couple of marketers and lots of "other," including HR manager, professor, innovator, etc Age range: Lots of people in 20s, quite a few in 30s Nationalities: Quite a few from the US of A, a couple of Hongkies, a Canuck or two and a smattering of locals Weirdest job: Sex toy saleswoman (she even brought samples)
