| Since joining the World Trade Organization, China has strengthened its legal framework and amended its IPR laws and regulations. Despite stronger statutory protection, China continues to have one of the highest rates of copyright infringement in the world.

In this not to be missed seminar Pearl Huang from Woodhead International will share Woodhead¡¯s experience of IPR infringement and Ted Marr from Allens Arthur Robinson will give some tips on what to prepare for and how to best to avoid IPR issues.
GUEST SPEAKERS Pearl Huang, Regional Principal, Woodhead International, Shanghai Office Pearl has 17 Years of management and marketing experience, specialising in strategic planning, project management, big event management and business development. Before joining Woodhead in 2003 Pearl was employed by Austvalue International Pty Ltd. She has a Graduate Diploma of Business Administration, University of Technology Sydney Ted Marr, Practice Manager ¨C Greater China Intellectual Property, Allens Arthur Robinson Ted is a lawyer admitted in Hong Kong, Australia and England and Wales, a registered trade marks attorney in Australia, and a member of the Institute of Trade Mark Agents in Hong Kong. He has broad experience in the intellectual property field, including litigation and enforcement (copyright, design, patents, passing-off, unfair competition, trade mark infringement and domain name disputes), as well as commercial transactions (particularly licensing & franchising and due diligence projects) and in trade mark registration programs and intellectual property portfolio management. Over the last decade Ted has built up, based in Hong Kong, an extensive intellectual property practice spanning Greater China (Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China & Taiwan). He assists many major international corporations in the protection and exploitation of their trade marks, domain names, designs and patents both through registration programs and enforcement against infringers.
