| So you think you know Shanghai? There's always more to learn about this ever changing and intriguing city. Join AustCham Shanghai for an insightful walk through the French Concession to learn more about Shanghai's history and architecture.

 The walk starts heading east along Shaoxing Lu, wending through a lilong to the extensive grounds of the Ruijin Hotel and then into Fuxing fang, a large Lilong that joins Ruijin Lu with Fuxing Lu. From there the walk continues along Sinan Lu, past Zhou En-lai¡¯s house and Sun Yat-sen¡¯s house with a stop outside the St Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church. Following along Nanchang Lu, through Fuxing Park (former French Park) the route leads past the Dubail Apartments where revolutionary Agnes Smedley lived, and into Bridge 8 - the Creative Clustering Park.The walk will finish at Kakadu restaurant at Bridge 8 for refreshments.
The tour will provide you with insights into Shanghai's history, architecture and current developments. Guest Guide Anne Warr is an architect, historian, Shanghai resident and author. Anne's most recent work is on Shanghai Architecture, and due for publication in December 2007. Price includes walk and refreshments at Kakadu. A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to the Explore Shanghai Heritage. Please note RSVP's for this event will be given on a member priority basis.
